Amy was born and raised in Michigan where she attended Grand Valley State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Film and Video Production (2005).  After graduation, Amy worked for two years as a Distribution Administrator in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  In 2008, she moved to Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie Mellon University, earning a Master of Arts Management degree in 2010.

While completing her Masters degree, Amy worked with both Pittsburgh Filmmakers and the Arts Education Collaborative in project management and administration.  Prior to joining the forum, Amy served as the Manager of Educational Outreach at WQED Multimedia, the nation’s first community-supported public broadcaster.

Amy is also an online guest contributor for the National Alliance for Media Art and Culture, and regularly advises organizations on issues of media literacy and education.
