Born and raised in the small South Texas community of Robstown, where the cotton fields take up more real estate than its citizens, Noe spent eight years working in the field of higher education within the areas of enrollment management, student services and community outreach. His most recent position was with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as a P-16 Specialist on a statewide campaign aimed at increasing the participation and success rates of minority students in higher education. He enjoys traveling, learning new languages, and eating exotic foods. His cultural curiosity and passion for the field of education are what led to a previous career as an English Teacher in Japan where he spent seven years working with pre-schoolers and young adults. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Edward’s University, a master’s degree in school counseling from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and looks forward to the next several years at the University of Michigan where he seeks to turn a life long passion into a career committed to ensuring access to higher education for all students.
